About the Young Anglicans Project

Greetings!

Welcome to the Young Anglicans Project website. We are a community of workers in family, children, youth and young adult ministries, as volunteers, professionals and parents. We are excited about the launch of this website as a means of sustaining community and sharing resources among us.

We believe that our mission is "to prepare God's people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the fullness of the measure of the stature of Christ." (Eph. 4:12-13). We hold that Anglican Christians of whatever age are called to lives of discipleship in ways respective of their developmental ages. What we ask of our children should be what we ask of our youth, young adults and older adults, each according to their station in life. We also believe that the most effective and biblical means of cultivating discipleship in young people is through families (Deut. 6:4-8) and that the support of families in their ministry should be one of the top priorities of the Church. As a result, the Young Anglicans Project website is designed to support families, children, youth and young adult workers in their work to affect this call on the lives of young people.

This initiative seeks to offer three things: community, theology and resources. We desire to see develop a rich community of Anglican children, youth and young adult workers who grow to know and trust one another in their ministries with young people and in their life in Christ. In this community we seek to ground ourselves in the Word of God and to foster serious orthodox Anglican theological reflection about who we are in Christ. It is out of this that we engage in Gospel ministry together. As a result, we serve as living resources to one another, sharing ideas, teaching, curricula, position papers, etc. with one another for the building up of the Kingdom of God through Anglican Churches all over North America. This site is designed to be an interface for these things. Search the site and use whatever you find helpful for your ministry. If you have resources to contribute, we encourage you to create a profile and upload what you have to share with others.

Since the objective of this initiative is to facilitate the building of community and the sharing of resources together, we need your help. Give us your feedback on how to make it work. If you like what you see please let us know what is helpful. If you have suggestions of how we can make it serve the community better please let us know what you think.

Truly our inheritance is in the saints for it is here at work in the lives of other believers gathered in Christ's name, that we find our greatest treasure. Praise be to God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit forever.
