The seventh Young Anglicans Project Summit is going to be at Camp St. Christopher outside Charleston, SC in early November. The title is "Strengthening our Ministries: A Glimpse of What God is Doing in the Lives of Young People Through a Biblically-Rooted North American Anglicanism." The intention with this gathering is to promote continuity and interconnectedness between ministries and the whole church—to avoid the youth ghettoization of children's, youth, and young adult ministries.
Doors open on Monday, November 5 at 5:00PM (dinner is included; Kendall Harmon will be sharing a bible teaching with us), and the conference ends on Wednesday, November 7 at noon (lunch on your own). Here's the full schedule.
The three things we do are community, theology, and resourcing. Monday will be spent on community: what is God doing in our midst? Tuesday will be spent in doing theological reflection on the formation of young people: the role of Confirmation, the role of clergy in our ministries, and the biblical foundations of our ministries. Wednesday will be spent in the sharing of resources such as this website, opportunities and events, curricula, etc.
Really, though, the formal program is just an excuse to:
- hang out on beautiful Seabrook Island
- sit under some solid bible teaching
- eat some great food
- share some stimulating conversation
- pray together
- share resources
- strengthen our community
We expect 50+ people. The cost for the Summit is $100 if you have a roommate, $150 if you don't (meals are included), and the link below is to the online registration for the meeting. We lose the last of our block of rooms on Monday! Register now!
If you have questions, post them here or send them to Jack Gabig or Peter Rothermel.
