One of the great things about connecting young disciples is knowing who they are and what they are passionate about. My name is RobLongbottom and am currently working as a rector in the diocese of Albany. I have dedicated most of my adult life to youth, college and young families. These are the people who life and passions make the most sense to me. Working as a rector now is quite a challange in that it is a different world. The church I am with is actually doing very well with moving into a missionary minded focus. But I fear they are only goingto move into a field that is already antiquated a nd no longer working which is the renewal/cursillo stuff. We are more than a generation away from that and have completely new fields of ministry to work on. So in some ways I want to be on the cutting edge and feel stuck in a system that no matter how mission minded is doomed to fail rather quickly. So what to do? That is my initial offering. I do hope this website becomes a great online community for support and ministry.

Why do you want to be cutting edge?

I guess what I mean is that I want to help the people who I sheperd be ready to for the n next twenty years instead of the last twenty years

The problem, though, is that you can't trade one fad for another. Well, you can, and many have.
The key is to stick to the basics - the timeless, and sometimes boring, basics that have been the mainstays of saints for 2000 years. Keep it real, brother.
